Sunday–The Rocks Didn’t Cry Out

“I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” Luke 19:40

Worship can’t be faked.  It is to GOD who knows my heart.  And every Sunday when I feel as if I haven’t given HIM the worship HE deserves and the worship meeting ends, I always think, “At least no rocks cried out.  There must have been worship going up somewhere because I didn’t hear the rocks crying out.”  I found a verse in Matthew that surprised me.

“Then came she and worshipped him, saying, LORD, help me.”  Matthew 15:25

“LORD, help me” is worship?  I am so thankful because this is where I am.  I so often don’t get past, the “LORD, help me.”

Here are a few verses from Matthew about worship.  What I want to focus on is what was said.

Matthew 8:2  “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, LORD, if THOU wilt, THOU canst make me clean.”

Matthew 9:18  “. . .there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay THY hand upon her, and she shall live.

Matthew 14:33  “Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth THOU art the SON of GOD.”

Matthew 15:25  “Then came she and worshipped him, saying, LORD, help me.”

These verses are also mainly from Matthew, but I want to focus on the action taken  (what he/she/they did).

Matthew 2:1-2  “. . .Behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying Where is HE that is born, KING OF THE JEWS? for we have seen HIS star in the east, and are come to worship HIM.

Matthew 2:11  “And when [the wise men] were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary HIS mother, and fell down, and worshipped HIM:  and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto HIM gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 28:9  “. . .Behold, JESUS met them. . .And they came and held HIM by the feet, and worshipped HIM.

Matthew 28:17  “And when they saw HIM, they worshipped HIM: but some doubted.

Luke 24:52  “And they worshipped HIM, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.

just a few thoughts,

A verse about one disciple’s response to the Lord’s question, “”Lovest thou Me?”
“Lord , Thou knowest all things; Thou knowest that I love Thee.”
And then a commission… “Feed My sheep.”
Then… I and II Peter were written… with such lovely verses as “that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to Whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (I Peter 4:11).
Worship that is not faked, that is real, that will go on for eternity, can start here and now in my/your heart/life… amazing grace!
    Thanks for your posts.
    Love,

When we realize that we are sitting in the presence of the One Who paid such a price for us, it is an
awesome thing, and to think that He is happy for us to be there is much more wonderful. Had such
    lovely hymns yesterday to sing together – #95, #57, #105, #156 and #80.
    Thanks for the reminder.
    Love,
    Mom W.
P.S. And He also loves to see the children and hear their little voices too.
