If you were to take a poll of all the many people I know, my family, my friends, my hairdresser, my highschool friends, my neighbors, my college friends, old friends, new friends, former colleagues, former teachers, my garbage man, etc. . ., and if you were to ask them to describe me in one word, I can say with certainly no one would use the word “meek.” I believe that is why this verse stood out to me. Enjoy.
“The LORD taketh pleasure in HIS people: HE will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.” Psalm 149:4 – 5
When others come, who, dwelling in the sunshine,
Have grown weary of the toil and strife,
Can we not share with them our calm and quiet–
Show them the beauty of a hidden life?
May we not give to them some tender message,
Some of the garnered peace we hold in store,
Some of the songs GOD giveth in the midnight,
When sleep flies from us and the pain is sore?
Enjoying, “The LORD taketh pleasure in HIS people.”
Thinking about, “HE will beautify the meek with salvation.”
Singing, “Let the saints be joyful in glory.”
Too tired to, “. . .sing alound upon their beds.”
